@NathanSnyder13 It is better to use my coda slider tutorial for featured content stuff. I just did it a few tutorials ago. Look on my YouTube channel. The look for the variable currentPanel in the code for that tutorial. When currentPanel is checked if it has the value of 1 “First Slide” change it to either 2 or the number representing your last slide. That’s all you’d have to do. I hope that makes sense

@derekbanas that’s what I figured, I just have no idea what that code would look like.

@NathanSnyder13 Yes you just have to programmatically skip showing the first slide after the first time. One conditional statement will get you what you want

Is it possible to show a slide once and only once, but the rest of it keeps looping through? I ask because a client wants a logo splash image for slide #1, but only once and then the rest of the slides just keep looping from slide #2 onward.

@druciferophio Oh yes you guys are cool! Believe me if I thought what I was doing was pointless I’d stop. I get an average of 27 tutorial requests per day so I know a lot of people are at least watching what I’ve been doing. It’s just hard for me to figure out what to do next because I get so many requests

@jsfaulds They are using the same techniques I used in my vertical menu tutorial. They display:none the pop up boxes on click and then absolutely position the additional text box on the screen. The only real difference is that I use relative positioning and trigger for the menu to open on mouseover. I hope that helps?

Another top tutorial Derek. Could you teach how to make the more info button reveal with jquery, more information about the product. Something like the slider on this site.

Wow a slider in 14 minutes, great tutorial!

I’m really in to PHP at the moment and I was thinking if it was possible to make a video that explains the error messages. Because i don’t know what half of them mean and I think i’m not the only one. Some are pretty self-explaining but others don’t.

@supprof1 They are using Ajax techniques to pull the data then I’d guess. I don’t know what the benefit would be in doing that?

@supprof1 Javascript isn’t a security threat. The main threats come from allowing access to your database. What CMS are you talking about that is 100% html? It would have to use a server side language of some sort to be considered a CMS
